Texas Tomorrow Funds

Investments

How is the Texas Tomorrow Fund invested?

The 75th Texas Legislature, with the passage of House Bill 9 and the Governor's signature, expanded the Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board's investment authority. The legislation gives the Board "prudent person rule" investment authority allowing investments in equity securities. This enhanced authority is similar to that currently granted to the state's retirement funds. The Board contracts with private professional investment managers to assist the Board in investing the assets of the Fund.

The Fund was created by the Texas Legislature in 1996.
