When will the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan open again for new enrollment?

At this time, the Texas Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board, the governing board of the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan, has not announced a new enrollment period. Should the Board set a new enrollment period, enrollment dates and other information will be made widely available through public announcements and print and broadcast media across the state.

Can I add more years to the plan I purchased?

No. The Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan is currently closed to new enrollment. Plan conversions, which include adding additional years to a contract, can only occur during an enrollment period because new contract prices are used in the calculation. However, downgrades to a plan, with fewer years purchased, can occur at any time.

Does the State of Texas offer another way to save for college expenses?

Yes. Texas College Savings Plan (sponsored by the Texas Tomorrow Funds and managed by OppenheimerFunds) remains open to new investors and offers a variety of college savings opportunities.
